another month another (biweekly?) newsletter!

Happy (belated) birthday Momo AKA Momo D Holt AKA Shogun Momonoske!!!!! & happy gotcha day Yoyo AKA Princess Hiyori!!!!!!!!

times are horrible in the usa but that is not the focus of this newsletter! I love you & you are safe with me ❤

We have finally made it to the end of February. Thank fucking goodness. The promise of spring is filling me with hope after yet another challenging January-February.

In 2023, I was really into The Unit Circle as a model, thinking about how the world/life/everything circles round and round. This time of the year is filled with miscellaneous “trauma-versaries” for me (and many ppl that I know?!).

Zidane and I adopted Momo in February of 2021, the year I produced The Vagina Monologues/MIT Monologues (on Zoom… lol). In college, I loved having VagMo/MITMo to hold my focus during this period, bring joy and community, and feel the power of speaking profound truths. 

I missed this so much after graduating, but luckily was able to use my dear son as a reason to celebrate & focus! So in 2022, I flew home from Ireland for Momo’s Birthday, 2/25, and hosted a lovely dinner (a shabbat dinner, thank you Metal 💗).  I repeated the dinner party in 2023 and the next day we adopted Yoyo, our Leo princess.

in 2024, for the first time, we had dinner but also featured an “open mic”, where folks could share whatever has been on their mind/heart/body. It was a very powerful and enjoyable event, that made it to my wrapped!

this year, the bunnies, Zidane and I hosted this event again :) I read a poem & made soup. my framily shared poems and art and feelings. Momo destroyed everything he could in an effort to get attention and Yoyo hid from everyone. it was glorious. there is healing in reimagining a date, in community, and in owning my story.

Sooooo we are selling “merch”?? mostly because we want to own the print of our bunz and these stickers I conceptualized and Zidane drew :0 plus I needed new flower vulva stickers to replace the ones from 2021 (4 years ago?!) that I used.

Zidane and I have been hanging out more w our local homies and we made vision boards this week, largely from Essence magazines collected by my dear friend Faith. it filled me with love and community, which is always what I need. I am also proud of the vision boards we made?!
