hello!!
welcome to the [some models are useful] newsletter! Meg is in charge of the newsletter and will be sending it out every other week (the weeks that there is no episode!). The main goal is to talk about the episodes (give follow up or previews) as well as give some updates about life. This week I write you from Montreal, where I'm visiting with zidane & our friends kebar and saffron prior to the eclipse!!
also, as with all things related to this podcast (& life), this is a work in progress!

episode 0.0: playlists as a model
In episode 0.0, zidane talks about different playlists they use to understand place and time. Zidane specifically mentions their Z to U series - a continuous creative outlet Zidane has been working on since 2017!!
information about the different playlists and their Spotify/Apple Music links are here:
We also talk about our Iconic Playlist series. Personally, I think everyone should make their own set of iconic openings, track 2s, track -2s, and endings. If you have iconic songs you love, please send them to us!! The newest in iconic albums is without a doubt Cowboy Carter by Beyoncé. If you haven't listened to it, you must. American Requiem is SO ICONIC as an opening. and the way it's framed with amen as an outro?? PERFECT AMAZING. please join our community on patreon for our full rant about this blessing (I am making a spreadsheet).
episode 0.1
Next week, 4/16, we will release the episode we recorded with Vienna Rothberg, MSW/MPH. It's the first we recorded and was a real joy to produce. Vienna is one of the most beautiful lights in this world and I am so grateful to have her in our Framily. She is also a model expert and has taught me many of my favorite models, including the pyramid of doom/love & “The River” as she will discuss in the episode. Vienna was the founder of PLEASURE@MIT, ie Peers Leading Education About Sexuality and Standing Up for Relationship Empowerment. Learning from and working with her as a PLEASURE Educator shaped my understanding of the world. A lot of these models inform how I move through spaces as an MD/PhD student (and my frustrations with Medicine) so I am excited to add them to our foundations.
[where am i?] montreal & the eclipse
Thank you for reading & listening & supporting <3 I have written this letter over the course of our weekend in Montreal & am closing it as we drive to a park to watch the eclipse. The trip has been wonderful & everything that we needed. please enjoy some pictures of the city, the sun, and the moon.

[one good thing]
I think I will implement a “one good thing” routine at the end of each newsletter. it's an important check in question for me as I try to find joy & hope & strength in my life (“what's one good thing?”). for this week, my one good thing is that I advocated for myself very well in a really challenging meeting with one of the deans of my med school.
